My work explores the boundary space between the seen and the imagined, diving deep into the oceanic unconscious. These large-format paintings, created with acrylics, emerge from a desire to translate inner landscapes—composed of memory, intuition, and fluid perception—into tangible visual forms. Drawing inspiration from aquatic ecosystems, cosmic visions, and biomorphic abstraction, I merge the organic with the surreal, the microscopic with the monumental.
Each painting is a world of its own, yet all share a common pulse—water as a metaphor, as an archive of memory. Layers of transparent glaze create depth and movement, allowing hidden forms and ghostly architectures to surface. Whales become cities, fish echo thoughts, and human forms dissolve into waves. These fractured forms represent memories of lost worlds and the experience of historical discontinuities tied to the Balkan soil, but they are also acts of creating new worlds from a universal source— a space of personal freedom, transformation and healing.
In this submerged landscape, I strive to offer a place for contemplation, where viewers can freely float between narrative and abstraction, between dream and matter, and establish contact with the living water within each of us. Through the repeated application of “coloured water,” I remain in constant contact with water as an element, following its movement across the canvas, learning from it, and tracing its journey from source to outcome. It is a practice of listening to the silence beneath chaos — a call to pause and feel the underground current of a deeper reality—one in which everything is connected, mutable, and alive.
